On arrival our representative will receive you at airport and transfer you to Phuntsholing (Boarder to West Bengal, India). Overnight Phuntsholing.
Right after the breakfast, we will proceed to the immigration office, after approving permits we drive to Thimphu, on the way we shall visit Kharpandi temple(Founded in 1967 by Royal Grand Mother, Ashi Phuntsho Choedron and situated at the altitude of 400m) and continue to Thimphu, lunch will be on the way. Overnight Thimphu.
After breakfast visit to the National Memorial Chorten. This temple was first initiated by the Third King as a protection from the negative elements of modernization, and as a monument to world peace. Then visit Buddha Point(Great Buddha Dordenma is a gigantic Shakyamuni Buddha statue in the mountains of Bhutan celebrating the 60th anniversary of fourth king Jigme Singye Wangchuck.), Changankha Lhakhang, 12 th century temple, Other sites to visit include: the School for Arts and Crafts where students are taught the 13 types of Bhutanese art, The National Library housing the collection of Bhutanese scriptures dating back to the 8th century, the Traditional Paper Factory displaying the Bhutanese paper making process, and a fascinating replica of a medieval farmhouse at the Folk Heritage Museum. Takin preserve center (the national animal of Bhutan), and Tashichhodzong, ‘the fortress of the glorious religion’. Initially erected in 1641 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, it was rebuilt in the 1960s during the reign of Bhutan’s third king in the traditional style, without plans or nails. Tashichhodzong houses some ministries, His Majesty’s secretariat, and the central monk body. If your visit to Thimphu coincides with the weekend, you can walk through the Thimphu Market to see the variety of food of Bhutan, including basket upon basket of fiery chillies, cheese and a variety of greens. Today we drive to Punakha and visit Punakha Dzong, the “Palace of Great Happiness†built in 1637 by Zhabdrung, the ‘Unifier of Bhutan’ as predicted by the great Guru Rimpoche (Padmasambhava). It is also the winter headquarters of the Je Khenpo and hundreds of monks moves in mass from Thimphu to this warmer location, Chimmi Lakhang (the land of fertility), Longest suspension bridge (from were we can see beautiful flow of river towards Punakha Dzong). Over night in Punakha.
Morning we drive to Paro and visit the Ta Dzong Museum, there you will be seeing the works of art and handicrafts offering a great orientation into Bhutan’s historical, cultural, and religious past. Next, visit the Rimpong Dzong to see the painting of the great saint Milarepa, considered as the master of meditation by the Bhutanese and believed to have attained enlightenment in a lifetime. Dzong’s are large monasteries and district administrative centres, which were once strategic forts. Later visit Kichu Lhakhang, One of the oldest temple in Bhutan, build on 7th century, Dungtse Lhakhang. Overnight in Paro.
Morning Visit to Tiger nest Monastery/ Taktshang monastery. Evening stroll around the market. Overnight in Paro.
